Hello Valkyries! I'm Sara and I am beyond excited to be your Rector in Johnson Family Hall! I have been lucky enough to call many different places home including Portland, Savannah, and Philadelphia. I'm originally from South Bend and it feels good to be back in the Midwest. I have my Masters from Villanova University in Ministry and Theology with a special focus towards Catholic Higher Education. Some of my favorite things include my puppy, Auggie, snuggles with my niece and nephew, making kombucha, throwing pottery, becoming more sustainable through everyday actions, and finding creative new ways to play.
I love being a rector and sharing life with you all in the hall because it allows me to integrate my passion for Holy Cross Spirituality and walking with people as they discover who they are and what they place value in. I cannot wait to meet you all!!

Assistant Rector, Fourth Floor
Hello Valkyries! My name is Jessie and I am so excited to serve as your assistant rector for the 2022-2023 school year! I graduated from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX in May of 2021 and am so excited to be back in the Midwest and close to my family and home in Northeast Ohio. I am a Master's of Divinity student and am passionate about the mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross, empowering women in the Church and the world, and caring for our most vulnerable and marginalized members of society. I could not be more excited to live and work in a vibrant community and form meaningful relationships with you!
You'll find me baking frequently, and getting outside to enjoy every day of sunshine that South Bend has to offer - especially when they are few and far between in the winter and spring! I love to take long walks and drink warm cups of coffee and tea with friends. I am so looking forward to getting to know you, and hope you'll come say hello - my door is open to you!
Gretchen Jones, Master's of Management Student
Assistant Rector, Second Floor
Hey Valkyries!!! My name is Gretchen and I’m SO excited to be your new assistant rector! I graduated this past May from Notre Dame with a degree in American Studies and Theology and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and am now pursuing a Master of Science in Management degree in Mendoza. During undergrad, I was involved in ND Listens (a student engagement group that calls alumni!), Athletics fundraising, and served as a Religious Education teacher at St. Joe’s parish in Mishawaka! I absolutely love the dorm experience that Notre Dame provides which is why I’m so excited to be your AR and can’t wait to be a part of this community! I love listening to Taylor Swift music, spending as much time with friends as possible, exploring South Bend, and taking walks to the Grotto and around campus. I could not be more excited to get to know you all, so thank you for welcoming me into your community!!
